Getting to Kampnagel/Alabama – Public Transport Directions
From Hamburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof)
Option A: Direct by bus (recommended)
- Take MetroBus line 17 from Hauptbahnhof / Steintordamm in the direction of Berne.
- Get off at Jarrestraße (Kampnagel) – just a 2-minute walk.
- Travel time: approx. 22 minutes, cost: €2–4.
Option B: S-Bahn + Bus combo
- Take the S1 from Hauptbahnhof to Barmbek (approx. 13 minutes).
- From there, switch to bus line 17 or 172 and ride to Jarrestraße (Kampnagel) (approx. 5 minutes).
- Total journey: approx. 30–35 minutes, cost: €2–4.
From Hamburg Airport (HAM)
Option A: S-Bahn + Bus (most efficient)
- Take the S1 train from Hamburg Airport to Barmbek (approx. 12 minutes).
- Change to bus 17 or 172 and ride to Jarrestraße (Kampnagel) (approx. 5 minutes).
- Total journey time: 24–27 minutes, cost: €4–7.
Option B: Direct bus (optional)
- Board bus line 172 near the airport (e.g., from Flughafenstraße/ZOB).
- Ride to Jarrestraße (Kampnagel) – approx. 33–43 minutes, cost: €5–7.
Option C: Taxi or private transfer
- Distance: ~6 km
- Duration: 8–10 minutes, depending on traffic
